Were You Programmed to Succeed?
Have you ever wondered how nature continues to grow despite environmental conditions? You pull the weeds from your flower garden and trim the hedges, and a few days later you have to do it all over again. Something is destroyed by fire and you will soon see green growth peeping through the rubble. You just can’t hold mother-nature back! Doesn’t it appear that all of nature is programmed to thrive, to succeed, and to grow?
In a recent meditation, I heard a firm inner voice say to me “You were programmed for this since the beginning!” Programmed for what? ” Prgrammed for SUCCESS!”
Suddenly I saw an image of a flourishing forest with rich luscious vines growing rampantly. I witnessed nature growing effortlessly and realized that the vines don’t have a care in the world. They do not worry about whether they will grow or not, they just do what they do. They grow! It’s in their program.
Just like nature, you were designed to succeed, at something!
You are one with nature. The trees, the flowers, even you and I came from the same seed of Oneness. Humans simply manifested in a different form. Instead of being a tree, or an animal, we took on the form of a body. We live in an earth-suit that has a mind that thinks, and therein lies the challenge.
Humans think and trees don’t. We fervently believe what we tell ourselves. Believing our thoughts can produce endless struggle, drama, and heart-break. It makes life difficult and hard when it doesn’t have to be. We were each designed to grow as profusely as the vines in the forest and to succeed at what we each were uniquely designed to be.
While writing this article, sitting in my local coffee shop, I over heard a conversation between three women. One said when she watches television that she sees a hundred different things she would like to be. Another one piped in agreeing with her. I checked in with myself. Is that true for me, I asked? Nope. But, I sure used to feel that way.
Why is it no longer true for me? I have stepped into my divine path. Or maybe, it’s that I’m just happy being me right here, right now. Why did these women feel like there were a hundred things they would like to be, if only they could? Maybe they felt that way because they have not yet awakened to their life path? Maybe they haven’t realized the joy that comes from simply being?
Do you sometimes feel pain and frustration of not knowing what your divine path is?
I remember seeing a television show of a man who had no hands, yet wrote volumes of information by typing with a pencil tucked between his teeth. I saw a handless person type with his toes. I watched a mother take care of her children with no arms. She moved about the kitchen cooking dinner with her feet. It was a sight to behold! Nothing could stop her natural self from expressing itself.
These people, we call handicapped, could easily use their physical condition as an excuse. They could feel sorry for themselves. But they don’t. If anyone has a legitimate excuse, they do! But, they don’t use it as an excuse.
Does the creator play favorites? Does the creator say, “You get the success gene . . . You don’t get the success gene. . . You do . . . and so on and so forth? What if people with no hands and arms believed that? No doubt they would think the creator plays favorites and they weren’t chosen. They may even feel blocked, bitter, and angry.
Is success programmed into your cells? Were you programmed to succeed at your Divine Blueprint? You get to decide for yourself. For me, that is true. If you aren’t succeeding, maybe you are out of the higher plan for your life.
Can we succeed at any and everything? I don’t know. However, I feel certain that there is a place in this world that is uniquely yours to succeed at because it is what you were blueprinted for and designed to be.
If you are struggling for success or to discover your Divine Blueprint, start by asking yourself these questions.
• What is success to me?
• When did I decide what success was to me?
• What am I measuring success by?
• Who am I comparing myself to?
• Who do I want to please and how might that be getting in the way of me stepping into my heart-felt path?
Maybe it’s time for you to redefine success. Many measure their success against the external world; how much money they have in their portfolio, what kind of car they drive, their level of education, etc.
Is it possible that true success has nothing to do with those things? What if success is more about mastering your ability to interact with life and to connect with the Divine? What if by connecting to the Divine, material success will come with greater ease? What if success is being happy doing what you’re doing right now, in this very moment?
Years ago, I decided to make it really easy to feel successful. If I touched one person or made a difference in the life of another that day, I was a success. That is how I defined success then, but now I feel hugely successful if I can simply be happy right here right now.
What if true success is the ability to be right here, in the here-and-now, breathing fully, listening to the sounds, enjoying the smells and feeling the joy of being fully alive?
All too often, we project success into the future as something we will have or be someday. What about the precious present? Can you embrace the NOW? You bet you can! Maybe THAT is the only thing you are here to do. What if the rest is just play?
Wrap your arms around this moment. May you feel ecstatic excitement at your own wonderful self and may that effervescence overflow like a bottle of freshly uncorked champagne!
