How would you rate the following belief? I’d be more secure with a large sum of money. Is it life-giving or depleting? Empowering or impeding?
If you are like most, and without deeper exploration, you may label it ‘empowering’ and that would be the end of the story. No doubt, you may feel more financially secure, but at what cost? And, what if you lost all of that money? How might you feel then?
A few weeks ago, I facilitated a personal Evo-K Session with a young entrepreneur. He had discovered that he held a belief that was actually hindering him rather than taking him toward his dreams. The belief was taking massive amounts of energy from him.
He impressed me with his willingness to explore the belief. After all, it looked so empowering and promising. We used Evolutional Kinesiology to confirm if it was limiting or empowering. It was confirmed to be limiting despite its appearance.
Many would be too intimidated to even explore the effects of the belief, fearing that if they explored it at all that they’d have to give it up, and that would mean giving up their chances of success, too!
However, this guy being the open minded and curious soul that he is, was more than willing to explore his consciousness – knowing that his success, and happiness, depends on what is stored in his subconscious mind.
I’ve watched him soar to phenomenal success, in a very short period of time, because of his courage to go where others dare not go. I was inspired by him from the first day we met, one lovely fall morning in 2006 while sipping coffee at StarBucks. In fact, if you have read my book‘Your Essential Whisper’, you’ve heard of him before. He is known as Vitamin Man in YEW. His real name is Jared Crebs.
Upon exploring the actual effects the belief had had upon him, his life, and his success, Jared saw that it caused him to expend massive amounts of energy pursuing something in the future, that he could actually have right now –a thing called HAPPINESS!
What a concept for most people to be happy NOW, while in pursuit of bigger dreams. What good is a billion dollars if you are spiritually broke, have neglected and lost loved ones along the way? That is a huge price to pay for financial success. Be sure to check out the unfolding of my co-author, Vanessa Wesley’s, Your Essential Wealth Program at www.ShakeYourDreamAlive.com
Several years ago, a client came to me because her reason for living had been stripped away from her. Her problem was unique and unusual. So unusual, that when she told me ‘why’ she had no reason to get out of bed in the morning, I got so dizzy that I almost fell out of my chair!
You see, she said the exact opposite of what most people say. Ready for this? She had just inherited $100,000,000. (Yep, you read correctly. That is one hundred million dollars!) Until that day, I too thought that I would be a lot happier with a large sum of money.
For months she continued to mirror my beliefs about money back to me, when one day she announced that she was in need of a kidney transplant. I thought that should be no problem with all the money she had. But she then informed me that she could die before she got a new kidney because it’s illegal to pay money in exchange for human organs.
Even with all of her money, SHE COULD NOT BUY LIFE! She, like everyone else, was placed in the queue waiting for an organ donor. (I’m glad to tell you that she was of the good fortune to receive a new kidney.)
There are some things money just can’t buy- human organs, health, and happiness. When my observations showed me that my concepts about money and happiness were false, I vowed to learn how to be happy for absolutely no reason- with or without money. That has not always been an easy task. My ego has put up a world-class fight from time to time, as if it were boxing Rocky for the world title!
Beliefs can have a myriad of effects on our life. They can be empowering. They can disable us, and they can absolutely block our ability to follow inner guidance. My friend Jared is someone who is in touch with his incredible intuitive abilities. No doubt the nudge of his Whisper inspired his willingness to investigate that pseudo belief that had been parading around in his life and business.
Jared and I spoke a few weeks after his session. He said something that I found quite profound. It was so profound that it inspired this very article.
A large sum of money may gratify, but never satisfy!
Midway through writing this article I decided to take a little Saturday afternoon nap. I was awakened by the most gentle, inner voice when it whispered……
‘Gratification comes from the ego.
Satisfaction only comes from the Soul.’
I quickly got the dictionary to compare the difference between the two words. To gratify is to please; to give pleasure to; to indulge; as to gratify the taste, the appetite, the senses, the desires, the mind, etc. Pain and pleasure are constructs of the ego. They are neither right nor wrong. But, what we often think will bring us pleasure, may soon bring us pain.
To satisfy means to put an end to (a desire, want, need, etc.) by sufficient or ample provision. It also means to give assurance to; only the Soul can know the true source and means of provision. Only Higher Wisdom can give lasting assurance. I found the meaning in the dictionary to be congruent with the message of the Whisper.
Want to hear something fascinating about what happened in Jared’s business after he let go of the belief masquerading about as positive? His income immediately went up $2,200 a week! Not bad for letting go of a limiting belief that, on the surface, looked so very empowering!
Inner guidance is always whispering and gently nudging you toward the direction of authentic satisfaction. May you find the courage to question your beliefs, as Jared did. May you follow the lead of your Whisper, and may you be blessed with gushing fountains of love, happiness, wisdom, and infinite abundance!
