Six Simple Steps To Be Present Now

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Ever found it impossible to calm or center yourself while in a difficult situation?  Ever felt as though God has abandoned you? I have experienced that too many times to count. In fact, I mastered the art of abandonment.

I have a friend, whom I’ll call Jane, who thought God had abandoned her. Jane was in dire straights. I have known her so long that I’ve watched her young children grow into adults and become parents themselves. Jane has taken as many personal development courses as I have. Actually, we took a lot of them together.

She has had some of the best training on the planet, from some of the most well-known names in the personal evolution. Despite this, she found herself in a very painful place. I once heard Wayne Dyer, a world famous author, tell about a painful time in his life when he heard his inner voice say to him, ‘You’ve tried everything else, why not try God?’ (more…)

Divine Guidance Comes When I SEEK PEACE

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Ever wondered why it is sometimes hard to hear your Whisper (inner guidance), and at other times it comes so easy?  The answer is really very simple, although during the moments of duress it may not seem so.

Recently a woman came to me who was sincerely seeking peace.  She had circumstances in her life (in the external world) that she wanted to change, but just as importantly she sincerely wanted to feel at peace.  During her processing she had a moment of enlightenment when she realized that divine guidance comes when you (more…)

You Don’t Need Ears to Hear

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Have you ever had the experience of running into the same person over and over in a short period of time? No matter where you went, you ran into them again and again. It happened to me, except it wasn’t the same person; it was the same kind of person. I’ll explain. Over several weeks I noticed that I was attracting deaf people into my life. The first time it happened I thought nothing of it - just a wonderful interaction with a young man. After the third time it happened I couldn’t help but wonder why. Was there a message? Was there something I was to learn from this?

A Simple Solution for Worry

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Have you ever had the experience of being in-the-flow and feeling so good that you wanted to capture it, put it in a bottle, and preserve it forever? I have, and I love the way that feels. You, like me, have probably secretly thought, “If only I could stay in the flow? If I never had problems or worries, I could live in the ever-flow of life.”

Ever noticed how worry puts a damn in the flow? It will stop it up as fast as super-glue. Suddenly, life feels difficult, dense and hard. It feels as though you are walking through mud. And, just to form one happy or positive thought requires an enormous amount of mental energy and effort. Well let’s face it. It takes the full power of your ‘will’ in those moments.

So, what exactly is worry? (more…)

Be Still and Seek to Manifest

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

In the last twenty-four hours, I opened three separate books to find the same message spoken differently. Has this ever happened to you? When something happens three times, a pattern has emerged. Pay attention! The pattern is a message from the Whisper.

Each message was a variation of the following quote by Eileen Caddy, the founder of the Findhorn Community in Scotland, known world-wide for growing an abundance of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and large plants in the worst possible conditions. (more…)

Were You Programmed to Succeed?

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Have you ever wondered how nature continues to grow despite environmental conditions? You pull the weeds from your flower garden and trim the hedges, and a few days later you have to do it all over again. Something is destroyed by fire and you will soon see green growth peeping through the rubble. You just can’t hold mother-nature back! Doesn’t it appear that all of nature is programmed to thrive, to succeed, and to grow?

In a recent meditation, I heard a firm inner voice say to me “You were programmed for this since the beginning!” Programmed for what? ” (more…)

The Gift of Discomfort- 3 Tips to Embrace it and Evolve

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Have you ever had a feeling in your gut that stayed with you for a prolonged period and only got stronger over time? It’s happened to me numerously throughout my life, and it happened again recently. It was intense!

It started out as slight feeling in my solar plexus. At first, it was so subtle that I didn’t really notice it. It was more unconscious, or transparent, than apparent. About a week later, I was beginning to become consciously aware of it, and ten days later, I was experiencing full-blown restlessness and uneasiness.

With the intention to uncover the message behind the restlessness, I did what I always do. (more…)

How Your Attitude Hurts Your Happiness and You May Not Know It

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

I recently watched a video clip of an Oprah show. Oprah had a guest by the name of Randy Pause. He appeared to be in his forties, a successful man by worldly terms, with three young sons. Randy has terminal prostate cancer. The doctors tell him that he only has a few months to live. In fact, his attitude about dying was so inspiring that Oprah invited him to her show. She showed a most amazing clip of him giving his last speech to a class at Cambridge University.

If you haven’t seen it you’ll want to!

“Our brick walls are there to show us how much we want our dream.”

That is what Randy told the class. (more…)

1 Simple Way to Free Yourself from the Mental Prison

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Have you ever wondered if the mind, with its incessant stream of thoughts, ceases to think at the moment of death? I have. I wonder if we ever get free from our whirling mind. I am no expert about the after-life, so I cannot speak with certainty about that. (I have some beliefs about that, but I’ll spare you from them.)

How would anyone really know what happens after death, anyway? I suppose only those who have come back from the dead could tell us, right? But, I’m not even sure about that. The only thing I can know and speak honestly about is what I know right here, in the here and now. When my mind isn’t grieving the past or fearing the future, I am grounded in the present.

Years ago, my friend Byron Katie, along with couple of friends and I, were headed to a Houston prison to do a process she calls ‘The Work’. I was intrigued to discover that the prison was located smack dab in downtown Houston. Shouldn’t it be in the country, far away from civilization?

We entered the front doors of the prison, (more…)

3 Steps for Getting Unstuck and Back In the Flow

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Ugh! It was  my turn to write The Weekly Whisper (an online newletter that my co-author and I publish each week) and there was absolutely NO energy for it. In fact, I was totally uninspired and didn’t have even-an-ounce of motivation for it!  My self-talk went something like this. This is the only day I have to write TWW before the deadline. Are people actually reading this thing, anyway? Do they actually get value out of it? (more…)
